The super hero smash ups have been demolishing box office results for a few years now. One trend that has become commonplace in the films is adding characters as the movies grow. Maybe studios think that fans want to see new faces with each and every outing, and maybe special effects wizards are caught up wanting to try new things. However, one particular super hero franchise is set to do things a little differently when it comes to the second movie in the series.
According to Screen Rant, writer and director James Gunn, who is helming up “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” is set todial back the character count and only introduce one new face in the sequel to massively successful original. This process is a little different than the normal mentality surrounding super hero team ups, but Guardians already has a stellar cast of characters says Susan McGalla. By concentrating on the people already brought to life, the second film can actually develop a bit of the backstory of these characters and showcase their individual talents.
In the end, it is a pretty good move to stay away from what has become the norm in the super hero genre. Instead of a clutter of new faces, Guardians will be concentrating on the ones fans already know. In essence, Gunn has a plan to give people more of what they love, and that should be a pretty rewarding movie.
